This is the letter to the editor that I submitted to The Dallas Morning News. It was printed on Wednesday, September 9, 2022, with only a few minor changes:
The headline on an article on the front page of the September 2, 2022, issue of your newspaper declared: “Christians sue over HIV drugs.”
I am a Christian and I go to church regularly, and I did not sue over HIV drugs. The ”group of Christians” you are writing about “oppose homosexuality on religious grounds.” I do not oppose homosexuality on religious or any other grounds.
I do not want to be lumped in with this group of so-called Christians. They do not love their neighbors.
In the future, would you please make it clear that these are people who call themselves Christians, but they do not live their lives according to the lessons taught by Jesus. Many Christians do not agree with this group of so-called Christians stands on homosexuality, the role of women and abortion.
