I heard these four words from someone on PBS recently, and they have been circulating in my head. I am not sure who said them on PBS or why.
The words: “Be better—not bitter.”
I checked online and found a quote from the writer Jennifer Williamson.
“If you’re here now, trying to be better for all you’ve been through (and by better, I mean truer, among other things) instead of bitter, fighting everything, then here’s to you,” Williamson said.
There is truth in these words. I don’t think I’ve been bitter, not exactly, but I have been feeling a bit sorry for myself. I can be better!
